Your comments align with my experience. A Church is a church large or small, whether it meets in a formal situation or informal home. What counts in a Christian's walk "following Jesus Christ" or "being led by The Holy Spirit" ( the defining hallmark) is the measure to which I can submit myself continually to listening and obeying what The Holy Spirit leads me to do. Naturally, as a Father and Husband my priorities are clearly defined. I must agape my wife ( Ephesians 5), I must train-up my children to obey The Holy Spirit - 24 hours a day and 7 days a week. If I pour my energies into doing this then I will be fulfilling my primary role in life. Too often, men, and women, leave a church only to find that the church has not left them. We can be so institutionlised that it affects our behaviour to such an extent that we are unable to function "normally" ( as God wants us to function)! Surely, the household is the most important building block of human society. It is my responsiblitiy as "the head of household" to ensure that my own dearly loved ones are saved and kept in that conditon. Getting into Heaven is my priority. Keeping everyone in the Heavenly Kingdom is my responsibility - no one else's! Ensuring that they follow Jesus Christ, and The Holy Spirit is the resposibility of both dad and mum, Not a priest's, Not a Church's, Not a guru's.
