In memory of Callum Edwards. Callum was a contemporary of mine at Waikato University. He was my cell group leader, and first got me involved in public speaking etc. Callum was a very straight up and honest guy, who told you when you were drifting off the straight and narrow which was what I needed in my early days of my Christian faith. I have not seen him for seven or 8 years being at wrong ends of the Island.
I understand Callum died while playing Hockey on Monday night in Wellington. He must be about my age (around 36 or 37). Please pray for his wife and child.

Hi there,
I also went to Waikato Uni and recognise your photo but don't really remember where from (whether from the church I went to in Hamilton or from the bible groups set up at the Uni). I was a friend of Callum at Uni and in Wellington where I moved after finishing my degree. I went to the same church as Callum in Wellington - he introduced me and I also met his wife but cannot remember her name unfortunately although I went to bible study with her a few times (would be grateful if you could trigger my memory). I lost touch with Callum in 2001 when I moved to Sydney and was very shocked to see your posting regarding his death - I have seen postings from the school he taught at too. I would love to be able to get in touch with his wife somehow as I understand their son has a disability and has a trust fund set up - if you have any contact details I would be grateful. Thanks Kim Kemp (nee Nichols)-

Hi Kim (Marks Sister?)
Sounds like you know more than me. I would suggest getting back in touch with the church you both went to in Wellington and asking them about it. We are still in contact with a few of Callums old friends, Phil & Marcia, Richard and Cass. But everyone lost touch after varsity with Callum I think.

Yes it is Mark's sister! Thanks for replying to my message I'll get in touch with a few people I went to church with in Wellington who may still be there and know more. BTW My brother Mark is now in Auckland working for the Bible College in Henderson I think - I have contact details if you want them and wish to get in touch.

Lots of great memories of Callum.
I too lost touch with him over the years. I last saw him 7 years ago when he was up in Hams visiting.
Callum was a real 'brother' in my early christian walk, we shared things that we both struggled with. It was great to have someone to talk about deeper issues with at the time. I'm talking early 90's here. I remember the 'christian' speed metal music he would introduce me to, his first car, a rust bucket falcon that he re-painted in his garage, I remember sleeping on Waihi beach under the stars a couple of times, jam sessions and watching comedy at his flat.
Shocked to here of his death some two years later.

Have prayed for them. xx
